Federal Government Changes Focus from Abstinence Education to Condoms
Scott Phelps on a recent trip to Minneapolis, Minnesota, was interviewed on KTIS My Faith Radio. Scott shares about the recent change of focus on a federal level from abstinence education with teaching on marriage, to condom education and eliminating marriage language.
"Most people would be surprised to know that teens actually have a very positive attitude about marriage," said Scott Phelps, executive director of A&M Partnership referencing research from the University of Michigan, Monitoring the Future study.
"Most parents aren't aware of the messages being taught in their children's schools about condoms, abortion, birth control... At the least parents should be aware so they can counter that message at home," explained Phelps, author of five abstinence curriculum used in public schools or churches throughout the country.
