Best-selling author Josh McDowell will speak at A&M's Annual Banquet: Celebrating Truth. McDowell is best known for his book
Evidence That Demands a Verdict and his determination to influence youth culture.
"We are excited that Josh will be with us this year and look forward to his message about how important it is to reach teenagers with truth," said Scott Phelps, A&M's Executive Director. "I heard Josh speak over 10 years ago about teaching abstinence to teens. I was so moved by his message that eventually I began doing just that: carrying a message of purity to teens in schools around the country, and training parents, teachers, and pastors to talk to teens as well."
A&M was in year two of a five year federal grant that has been eliminated prematurely, removing almost $500,000 from A&M's budget. "This is a critical year for us to make a big jump in private support, but we know it's possible. There are so many teenagers in the country that need this message. We are confident that people will come alongside us to get involved in this great work and continue making a positive impact on teens around the country," explained Phelps.
